Our Theology

We at Distinctive Love Ministries see that the divine or higher power is within oneself or within all living beings. This involves cultivating a sense of spiritual awareness or connection to a larger cosmic or universal energy.

We recognize a higher power or Spirit and the interconnectedness of all living beings and the natural world, and the idea that all things are part of a larger whole. We see that the divine or higher power as a unifying force that connects all things. This Higher Power is not an overseeing being sitting in judgement of all people.

We acknowledge the New Testament of the Bible as a book containing text written from 50 to 150 AD as a collection of religious writings and scripture,  poems, psalms and proverbs with the Old Testament written between 250 BCE and 100 CE which bring about many wonderful and inspiring messages including the Ten Commandments and the basic premise of treating others as you would want to be treated.  We also see the value in many ancient text including Bhagavad Gita, Tripitaka representing the core teachings of Gautama Buddha and the Tao Te Ching or the Dao. We also recommend the current writings of authors such as Dr. Wayne Dyer, Don Miguel Ruiz and Dan Millan to our congregants.

We promote a sense of reverence and respect towards something greater than oneself. This may include nature, the universe, ancestors, or other spiritual or cosmic forces. We incorporate mindfulness and meditation practices into our spiritual practices, which involves connecting to a higher power or a sense of inner divinity.

We promote the values of humility and compassion, recognizing that all beings are part of a larger whole and that one's actions can have an impact on the well-being of others. This may involve living a life of service or compassion towards others, or cultivating a sense of gratitude towards the interconnectedness of all things.

Overall, our main emphasis is on interconnectedness, mindfulness, reverence, and compassion.
